Getting great prints from your Canva files!
Follow this guide to prepare a print-ready PDF
for Boone Graphics.
1. Document Setup & Bleeds
Bleeds are critical for designs where colors or images reach the edge of the page. They prevent unintended white edges after trimming.
• Requirement: Boone Graphics requires a 1/8-inch bleed on all sides.
• Enable Bleeds: Go to File > View settings > Show print bleed.
• Extend Graphics: Pull all background colors and images fully to the outer bleed line.
• Safe Zone: Keep text and logos at least 1/8 inch inside the trim line to avoid being cut off.
2. Design Essentials
• Resolution: Use 300 DPI images to ensure sharp photos and crisp text. Lower resolutions may appear blurry when printed.
• Color Profile: Export using the RGB profile. While printers use CMYK, Boone Graphics’ digital presses are optimized to manage this conversion for you. (Note: Very bright screen colors may appear slightly more muted in print.)
• Fonts: Use at least 10 pt for body text. Stick to clean, readable fonts and ensure they are embedded during export.
