However, due to the impact of the Covid-19 virus and the Governor of California's current Executive Order we are experiencing a significant reduction in work and are obligated to reduce the spread of the virus by limiting staff to the minimum needed to meet the needs of our clients who are part of essential services such as hospitals and local government. The EDD provides a variety of support services to individuals affected by COVID-19 in California. The Employment Development Department’s online benefit services, require that you register for access and they apply for benefits. Follow the link below to get started.

California Unemployment Benefits

The Governor’s Executive Order waives the one-week unpaid waiting period, so you can collect UI benefits for the first week you are out of work. If you are eligible, the EDD processes and issues payments within a few weeks of receiving a claim.
